Chabot Regional Park

I'm ever skeptical of East Bay hikes for insignificant reasons; mainly, the few trails I've explored have all been a disappointment in some manner and I haven't enjoyed the landscapes as much as their North Bay counterparts. But, this day may have corrected that false conclusion once and for all. After a fantastic Thai breakfast at the Wat Mongkolratanaram temple in Berkeley, Alex and I headed a few miles down the road to Chabot. We had no plan or expectations, and would simply make an impromptu choice at every fork in the trail we approached. In the end, it ended up being an 11 mile hike, and I would never be able to tell you which trails we stitched together to compose that loop, but it was delightful regardless.
